KARACHI:

Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar on Thursday directed authorities to launch a province-wide crackdown on professional beggars and strengthen security and traffic management measures ahead of Ramazan, vowing to personally oversee arrangements to ensure public convenience and safety during the holy month.

Presiding over a high-level review meeting and video link conference at the Central Police Office regarding the comprehensive security contingency plan for Ramazan, the minister stressed that citizens must be provided maximum relief, particularly during peak hours of iftar and sehri.

Expressing displeasure over persistent traffic congestion, Lanjar said no citizen should face inconvenience during Iftar and Sehri timings.
