ISLAMABAD:

Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid has refuted the  allegation of hurling any threats against Justice (retd) Kazim Ali  Malik, head of the election tribunal, which had unseated Sardar  Ayaz Sadiq from NA-122.

“It was me who has rather been threatened with dire consequences  by Justice Malik,” he said while talking to a TV channel.

Rashid said that he stood by his reaction regarding the  judgment on NA-122 in which Sadiq was punished for  the irregularities committed by the officials of Election Commission  of Pakistan (ECP).

“I do not agree with the verdict as it is biased. I stand by my earlier comments.”

He said Justice Malik, in his verdict, mentioned irregularities committed by the ECP officials, but he punished  Ayaz Sadiq while sparing his rival Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf  (PTI) Chief Imran Khan and his party’s MPA for the constituency  falling under NA-122 which was injustice.
