Law enforcement officials in plain clothes reportedly detained the deputy managing director of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Shoaib Warsi from the company’s head office in Karachi on Wednesday evening.
He was shifted to an undisclosed location for questioning.
The authorities concerned have not confirmed his detention, nor detailed the reasons behind the action.
A senior SSGC official, however, said that Warsi had been detained from outside the office on Sir Shah Muhammad Suleman Road near Civic Center.

“Warsi was picked up by personnel in plain clothes while he was leaving for home from work,” he said. “But we do not know the reason behind the detention or where he is now.”
Warsi had joined SSGC in 1977 as a trainee engineer.
