Suffering from growth deficiency: Govt tries social assimilation

They will be accommodated in both private and public sector organisations

KARACHI:
The government ordered the local transporters to make their vehicles user-friendly for the people suffering from growth deficiency. The transport secretary advised the transporters to offer the relevant individuals deducted fares and facilitate them while boarding the vehicles. Commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review the implementation of government orders in the metropolis. People with growth deficiency, a hormonal disorder, are neither mentally challenged nor suffer from any disease, said Siddiqui. It is our collective responsibility to help in their social assimilation, he added. It was also agreed that a job quota for people with disabilities was equally applicable on growth deficient people, said an official. They will be accommodated in both private and public sector organisations, he added.
