The notes in Rahat's voice are a nostalgic reminder of his uncle's talent.

Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has fans all across the world. Even after his death in 1997, his music continued to enthrall audiences as his legacy was taken forward by his nephew, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Rahat started accompanying his uncle and father -- Farrukh Ali Khan -- to tours by the age of three. At the age of seven he began formal training with his uncle and he performed first time in public at the age of nine at the death anniversary of his grandfather. From age fifteen, he was made an integral part of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's qawwali group which was famous throughout the world.

Here is a video of a young Rahat Fateh Ali Khan practicing vocals with his late uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan:

In addition to qawwali, the now 41-year-old Rahat also performs ghazals and has also made a name for himself in Bollywood as a playback singer.

The video also caught the attention of veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor who tweeted it. Rishi also disclosed that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan performed at his wedding sangeet:

He later even shared some photos from his sangeet in which Nusrat and party are seen with Rishi's father -- legendary Bollywood actor and filmmaker -- Raj Kapoor:

There was however a slight confusion. Rishi tweeted that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and his father Fateh Ali Khan performed in India first time ever at his wedding. Which isn't possible since Nusrat's father passed away when he was 16.
