Annual review: DPO examines records of police officials

MUZAFFARGARH: DPO Chaudhry Manzoor Sarwar announced punishments for police officers and officials on charges of negligence after an end-of-the-year review of their performance.

The one-year service contract of four sub-inspectors (SI), an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and a constable while the six-month service contracts of two SIs, two ASIs and two constables were eliminated. The salaries of two constables, who were censured for being absent, were stopped for the period they had remained off-duty.

The DPO also revoked the annual increment of an ASI for taking a bribe and an inspector, four ASIs and two constables were censured. Another eight constables were charged with negligence and have been suspended from duty.

The DPO said that honest and efficient employees were an asset for the department and pledged to punish all police officials who were not performing their duties properly.
