ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Assistant Commissioner Secretariat approved the pre-arrest bail of Asif Nazar aka Dj Butt after he appeared before the court on Monday, Express News reported.

Butt appeared before the assistant commissioner’s court and gave assurances that he would appear before the court whenever needed.
On Monday, the court granted bail to DJ Butt until September 3 and directed him to furnish a security bond worth Rs100,000 for his release. The hearing of the case was adjourned until September 3.

Earlier this month, Lahore High Court (LHC) had restrained the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) from proceeding against Butt.
PRA had issued a tax notice to DJ Butt for Rs17 million and summoned him on July 23 for neither registering himself nor paying due sales tax to Punjab government, however, he had challenged the legality of a show-cause notice issued to him on July 7 by the authority.
Advocate Ahmad Pansota, Butt’s counsel, said the authority had failed to abide by rules before issuing the notice. He said the PRA had also failed to accurately estimate the income tax liability of his client. Pansota asked the court to set aside the authority’s tax assessment and restrain the Income Tax additional commissioner from proceeding against Butt on this account.
