Twelve injured in AJK road accident

Locals demand rehabilitation of roads in Neelum Valley.

MUZAFFARABAD: Twelve people including two women were injured in a road accident in Neelum Valley, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday.

Police said a passenger jeep (AJKG0122), going from Kel to Taubutt, fell into a ravine near Machal village.

Pakistan army teams and local administration carried out the rescue work and shifted the injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kelp.

The injured were identified as Shahjahan, Yousaf, Iqbal, Qasim, Ali, Javaid, Gul Zaman, Waqas, Nauman, Zaman, Gulnaz and Farkhanda.

There have been a number of accidents in the area in recent months. Locals said poor condition of the roads was the main reason for rising road accidents. They demanded the government rehabilitate the roads in Neelum Valley.
