Official lands: Railways to auction 120 acres
Railway authorities have said their land will not be used without lease or rent agreements
RAWALPINDI:
Pakistan Railways is planning to auction 120 acres of its land in the form of commercial plots in Rawalpindi Division. The area was recently freed from land-grabbers, and a railway official has expressed concern over the now unused land. He said he was apprehensive that if the property is not leased out, unscrupulous elements may encroach upon it again. Railway authorities have said their land will not be used without lease or rent agreements, adding that public and semi-public organisations already utilising railways lands will have to contract the same lease agreements.
