Asif boxed out of youth championship
KARACHI:
Pakistan’s Muhammad Asif has lost 7-4 against Lee Que in the second round of the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) World Youth Championship in Baku, Azerbaijan. Asif is Pakistan’s second boxer to be eliminated from the tournament after Obaid Ali lost to Jordan’s Amjad Mohammad Ahmed 7-4 in the super flyweight category.
Pakistan’s hope now lies with Muhammad Tanveer and Attaullah who, according to the coach Francisco Hernendez Ronald, are good enough to qualify for the 2010 Summer Olympics. “I’m very happy the way these boxers have performed,” Ronald told The Express Tribune.
