ISLAMABAD:

The Met Office has predicted rain coupled thundershower at scattered places during the next 24 hours.

According to the Met Office, rain was likely in Malakand and Hazara divisions, Peshawar, Bannu, DI Khan, Mardan and Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad, Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours.

Due to synoptic conditions, a seasonal low persists over north Balochistan and adjoining area while monsoon currents were penetrating into upper parts of the country. A westerly wave was also hovering over upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Monday.

The prevailing high temperatures in northerns parts with a combination of rainfall may trigger GLOF/ flashfloods in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral resulting high flows in rivers and streams of northern areas. During the last 24 hours, weather remained hot and humid elsewhere in the country.
