Not for sale: Khattak accused of buying candidates
The politico said ANP’s stance on issues like the CPEC and Kalabagh Dam is what attracted him towards its folds
PESHAWAR:
Awami National Party Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa President Amir Haider Khan Hoti accused Chief Minister Pervez Khattak of buying off independent candidates for local governments. Speaking at ceremony at Bacha Khan Markaz in the city on Saturday to mark Qaumi Watan Party Peshawar President Haji Manzoor’s joining of ANP, Hoti said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government failed to reciprocate its tall claims. “In the previous general elections, instead of Fakhruddin G Ibrahim, the chief election commissioner was Hakimullah Mehsud.” He said ANP was cornered by militant elements even during the LG polls. While others counted votes, we counted bodies, Hoti added. “Hardly any development work has been carried out in my constituency of PK-6,” said Manzoor. “Their stance on national issues is also flawed.” The politico said ANP’s stance on issues like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and Kalabagh Dam is what attracted him towards its folds.
