Sindh plans land bank

KARACHI:
The government of Sindh is considering setting up a Sindh Land Bank Company that was discussed in a meeting with the chief minister on Tuesday.


The Board of Revenue’s Ghulam Ali Pasha said that the proposed company would operate under the provincial government. Through the bank, the uncultivated land in Sindh would be developed and made available in a transparent manner for industrial and residential purposes.

The purpose of setting up this bank is to allot land to various organisations and companies so that the maximum investment could be attracted. Pasha said that more proposals would be considered at the next meeting and then a report would be prepared. The meeting was attended by Revenue Minister Jam Mehtab Daher, Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman and the secretaries of Finance, Law and Land Utilisation.
