No escaping justice: DJ Butt of sit-in fame faces arrest warrants

Case was registered against DJ Butt at the Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad on charges of violating Section 144

Non-bailable warrants of arrest were issued on Friday for Asif Nazar aka DJ Butt, who rose to fame during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s sit-in in Islamabad last year. The case brought forward pertained to the violation of a ban on the use of loudspeakers in the capital.


Islamabad Assistant Commissioner Secretariat, Waqas Rasheed, issued arrest warrants for DJ Butt for the violation of Section 144 of the criminal procedure code and Amplifier Act during the sit-in.


The assistant commissioner’s court issued warrants after Nazar failed to appear before the court. The court directed the Secretariat Station House Officer (SHO) to arrest Nazar and present him before the court on the next hearing.


Following the hearing, the case was adjourned till September 3.


A case was registered against DJ Butt at the Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad on charges of violating Section 144 and sections of amplifier act.
