LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge sought comments from the Shahdra SHO on Friday on a petition by a woman seeking a case against three people who allegedly served her husband poisonous lassi.

Petitioner Mukhtaran Bibi said that she accompanied her husband to his warehouse where three of his employees, including a woman, served him lassi. He felt ill after that and was taken to a hospital where he died. Mukhtaran Bibi said that her husband’s friends told her that he had kept Rs300,000 at the warehouse. “I looked for the money but couldn’t find it anywhere,” she told the court.

She visited the police to file a complaint against the employees who served her husband the lassi but the SHO refused to register a case. She asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case against them.
