Entire nation supporting security agencies in war against terrorism: Nisar

Interior minister says Rangers will continue to defend country's frontiers and fight terrorism inside the country

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar said on Wednesday the war against terrorism needs to be won at all costs for the development and prosperity of the country.

"Elimination of terrorism a must for prosperity," Nisar said, while addressing the 30th passing out parade of Punjab Rangers in Mandi Bahauddin.

Further, Nisar said it is the responsibility of Rangers to defend the country's frontiers along with fighting terrorism inside the country. "Rangers have the responsibility to safeguard the country and ensure its security," he said.

Referring to the Attock blast the interior minister said, "Terrorists are hitting soft targets; however, the entire nation stands united and Rangers need to take action against such militant groups that are spreading anarchy and chaos in the country through financial help from other nations."

Reiterating that security agencies have full support of the nation in the war against terror, Nisar stated that the government has allocated a sum of Rs45 billion for civil armed forces.
