An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday sought comments from the Masti Gate SHO on a petition filed by a man seeking the registration of a case against his elder brother for allegedly abusing him.
Petitioner Muhammad Younas told the court that few weeks back, he was asleep on the roof of his house, when his brother Mehmoodul Hassan assaulted him.
“My brother came to my charpoy and grabbed hold of me at around 2am. I tried to resist him, but he pulled out a knife and put it to my throat and threatened to kill me. He fled after other family members came to the roof,” he said.
He said that the family had told him not to tell anyone about the incident. “However, Hassan told his friends and acquaintances about the assault. I then decided to register a complaint against him,” he said.
The petitioner said that he had requested the Masti Gate police to register a case, but they had refused to do so.
He requested the court to direct the SHO to register his complaint. Talking to The Express Tribune, Younas said that his life was in danger. “After I filed the petition, my brother once again threatened to kill me,” he said.
