Absence from work: GDA sacks 25 employees
Habib said a cleanliness drive has also been initiated in this regard
PESHAWAR:
Galiyat Development Authority has terminated 25 contingent employees on Tuesday due to prolonged absence from work.
Departmental action is currently under way against all such workers. “We will take to task all those who are absent from duty,” said GDA Administration Director Raza Ali Habib.
He said the termination letters served to all 25 contingent staffers read they have not been on duty ever since they were appointed.
At least 103 workers were hired by the authority to help its permanent employees in maintaining cleanliness and providing assistance to tourists visiting the scenic valley. He said the authority has introduced a series of reforms to increase its efficiency and keeping Galiyat’s natural environment intact.
Habib said a cleanliness drive has also been initiated in this regard. He said educational institutions have been approached to raise awareness about the issue and play their part.
