Flashman’s Hotel is built on nine acres of land and comprises 60 rooms
RAWALPINDI:
A decision has been made by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) to lease out the city’s historic Flashman’s Hotel. The hotel’s employees’ union has called a meeting condemning the ‘privatisation’. The union also plans to stage a protest against the move soon. PTDC Managing Director Kabir Ahmed Khan said the hotel will not be privatised, but given out on 15-year leases. Khan said the move will result in the renovation and improvement of the hotel. Modifying the hotel’s building structure will not be permitted during the lease period, the director added. Flashman’s Hotel is built on nine acres of land and comprises 60 rooms, two halls and a bar with a liquor licence.
