KESC successfully receives payments from some major commercial and residential projects.

KARACHI:
The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has stepped up its work against chronic payment defaulters across the city and has successfully received payments from some major commercial and residential projects where the power supply was disconnected to motivate consumers to pay long-standing bills.

In a press release on Thursday, KESC said that the major locations that were disconnected in December were: Sara Shopping, Bismillah Centre, Shakeel Gardens, Iqra City Phase 2, A-1 Complex Phase 1, A 1 Complex Phase 2, A 1 Apartments, Shireen Jinnah Colony, KDA Flats Surjani, Rabia City and Palm Beach Apartments, Clifton. In all these cases, the defaulting consumers signed undertakings with KESC for a payment schedule.

With the help of politicians, KESC has successfully negotiated with the associations in al Karam and Apsara Apartments in Liaqatabad and a formal agreement for the recovery of their bills will be signed on Friday, December 24.

Residents of these apartments staged violent protests earlier to condemn the power cuts. press release
