Abducted? Lecturer ‘disappears’ near Shakarparian
The investigating officer of the case said incoming and outgoing calls from Mairaj’s phone were being checked

A university lecturer has allegedly been kidnapped in Islamabad. Shahzad Town resident Noman Hassan lodged a complaint with the Aabpara police that his 28-year-old cousin Mairaj, a lecturer, left for university in his car and did not return. Hassan said the family remained in contact with Mairaj till 4pm, after which his mobile number was unresponsive. Hassan also said traffic police later found Mairaj’s vehicle at a signal near Shakarparian along with the keys, mobile phone and cash-filled wallet. The whereabouts of Mairaj remain unknown, Hassan said, adding that he had filed an abduction case.
