PTI fissures: ‘Educated bloc distances itself from land mafia’
Kirmani said the PTI had divided into two groups because of the wrong policies of its leadership
HARIPUR:
A special aide to the prime minister predicted the political demise of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday after it allegedly splintered into two factions.
Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani said the educated group within the PTI was revolting against land mafia elements within it.
Addressing a rally in Haripur, Kirmani said the PTI had divided into two groups because of the wrong policies of its leadership.
He said veteran PTI leader Justice (retd) Wajihuddin had formed a forward bloc within the party revolting against the leadership’s wrong policies.
Dr Aamir Zaman, PTI candidate for the NA-19 by-election, should clarify as to which faction he is representing, added Kirmani.
“The result of the by-poll being held on Sunday (today) will prove to be the last nail in the party’s coffin,” he said. “People will celebrate the victory of PML-N candidate Babar Nawaz Khan on the same venue on August 16 to thank the Almighty for putting the country into the hands of the right people.”
Kirmani said the people of Haripur had proved that their district was a bastion of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Earlier, addressing a rally in Panian, the PM’s special assistant felicitated the nation for celebrating the 69th Independence Day.
