Murder: Wife, her nephew arrested

Saddar police arrest woman and her nephew for the murder of her Muhammad Akram, who was killed a month ago.

PASRUR: Saddar police have arrested a woman and her nephew for the murder of Muhammad Akram, the woman’s husband, a month ago.

Addressing a press conference, SP (Investigation) Muhammad Nasir Qureshi said that Akram’s wife Nasreen Bibi and her nephew Imtiaz Ahmed confessed that they were involved in a relationship and that they murdered the man so that they could get married. Akram, a security guard at a private firm, had been murdered a month ago. According to earlier reports, the murder had taken place during an armed robbery. The couple, SP Qureshi said, told the police that they had staged the robbery to put the blame on unidentified dacoits and cover up their crime. The police recovered the weapon and a motorcycle used in the murder. The accused have been put behind bars after the registration of a murder case. The SP announced cash prizes for the police team that arrested the couple and got the confession. Pasrur DSP Munawar Hussain Bhatti was also present at the press conference.
