Service Matters: 46,686 teachers to be regularized

It was after the teachers staged a series of demonstrations that the government issued a notification in this regard

FAISALABAD: The government has issued a notification to regularise 46,686 teachers in the Punjab recruited under the Educators’ Recruitment Policy 2011 and the Amended Recruitment Policy 2011, Education Executive District Officer Bashir Zahid Goraya told The Express Tribune on Tuesday. He said 2,928 teachers in Faisalabad district would be regularised. The government has also issued directives for a committee, comprising the DCO, the education EDO, the finance EDO and the education DO in each district, to scrutinise the regularisation process. As many as 30,045 teachers in the province – 1,632 in Faisalabad – were recruited under the Educators’ Recruitment Policy 2011 and 1,6461 teachers in the province – 1,296 in Faisalabad – were recruited under the Amended Recruitment Policy 2011. Earlier, the government had promised teachers that they would be regularised without delay. However, it was after the teachers staged a series of demonstrations that the government issued a notification in this regard.
