The government has converted 76 seats in public medical and dental colleges, previously reserved for foreigners on self-finance, to seats for children of overseas Pakistanis and citizens with dual nationality, Adviser to Chief Minister Salman Rafique said on Tuesday. Children of Pakistanis living abroad looking to apply to medical colleges in Pakistan have till August 20 to apply for admission.
Rafique was presiding over a meeting to discuss the admission policy in medical colleges for the children of overseas Pakistanis and those with dual nationality.
Rafique said earlier, admission on the 76 seats was given to foreigners applying on self-finance basis. He said students applying to the seats would have to pass the entry test given by the University of Health Sciences or international MCAT exam or SAT-II. Overseas Pakistanis Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said mostly Pakistanis living in the Middle East will benefit from the new policy.
