LAHORE:

The Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) 2015 results were announced on Tuesday.

CIE Country Director Uzma Yousaf told The Express Tribune this year more than 250,000 exam entries were received from schools across the country.

Students and their parents thronged schools as school administrations remained busy compiling the results.

Beaconhouse School System Public Relations Officer Khurram Ali said he could not provide details because the administration was still compiling the results.

Fareha Arsalan, the mother of a student who had appeared for A-Level exams, said she hoped that her son did well. “He had worked very hard.”

Amina, a student from the Lahore Grammar School (LGS), said she had scored two A+ and an A. “I am very happy. But I will work harder in the future,” she said.

Abdul Samad had accompanied his nephew, Ali, to his school to receive his result.

“I am hopeful that Ali would do well. He prepared well for the examination. I, too, helped him,” Samad said.

Ayesha, another student, was not happy. “I spent sleepless nights preparing for the exams. I am disappointed. I was expecting a better result,” she said. She said she had scored only two As. “Mathematics, business studies were tough subjects for me,” she said.

CIE Chief Executive Micheal O’Sullivan said in a press statement, “I wish every success to students who are collecting exam results today in Pakistan. Cambridge qualifications open up so many opportunities globally with universities and employers. We are proud to work with schools in Pakistan to prepare students for the future and help them achieve their goals.”

Students can also check results from the CIE’s website.
