Theft case: Court petitioned to change FIA inquiry board
The petitoner requested the court to direct the FIA director to constitute an impartial investigation board
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Monday sought comments from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director in a case against three people accused of stealing parts of railway engines.
He said that he had requested the FIA director for an impartial inquiry into the case. “However, the officials have not pay heed to my requests. I doubt that the FIA Anti Corruption Cell will hold an impartial inquiry into the case,” he said. He requested the court to direct the FIA director to constitute an impartial investigation board.
The petitioner also requested the court to order action against the investigation officer of the case and the complainant.
According to the FIR, Muhammad Shoaib and Munir Khan used to sell locomotive parts from the Mughalpura railway workshop to scrap-dealer Muhammad Salman in connivance with policemen Abass and Muhammad Ijaz. The parts were hidden in garbage and then taken out of the workshop.
