ISLAMABAD:

Residents of Bani Gala have demanded the construction of a bridge over Korang River.

Many deaths have resulted from people attempting to cross the river during heavy rains, according to locals, who say the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration has been slow to respond to their demands.

“If the administration can carpet Korang Road leading towards Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s house in BaniGala, it should also heed the call of people for construction of this bridge,” said Muhammad Ali, a resident of Bani Gala. Stream water from Murree feeds into the Korang River, which is said to swell heavily during the rains, especially the monsoon season.

Locals said they faced difficulties in crossing the river, particularly during the monsoon season.
