ISLAMABAD:
The sub-divisional magistrate Islamabad (Saddar) has imposed a ban on construction activities in four sectors for the next two months under Section 144.

According to an order issued here on Saturday, no construction will be allowed or carried out in sectors G-15/3, G-14/1, 2, 3 and sectors F-14 and F-15 during the next two months.

The order said that no construction material would be supplied, loaded or unloaded in these sectors for construction purposes. Action would be taken against violators in accordance with the law, said the order.


According to the order, land in these sectors has been acquired for the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation and no construction will be allowed in the next two months to enhance the price of built-up structures.

Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure empowers the local administration to issue orders in the public interest that may ban an activity for a specific period. The ban is enforced by the police who register cases under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code against violators.
