In residential areas: Action against cattle pens next week
Rawal Town administration has completed all preparations to start the operation against cattle pens in the city
RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi District Administration has completed all arrangements to launch a decisive operation against cattle pens operating in residential areas of the garrison city.
“Under the directives of DCO Sajid Zafar Dall, Rawal Town administration has completed all preparations to start the operation against cattle pens in the city,” said an official requesting not to be named.
The official said a survey had been completed in 46 union councils of Rawalpindi and survey teams had identified illegal cattle pens operating in urban areas.
Last year, it was estimated that the number of buffaloes being kept in the cattle pens was over 800, which has multiplied this year, the official said.
Town Municipal Officer Malik Tausif said the operation will be conducted against the cattle pens next week. “The impounded cattle will be handed over to the agriculture and live stock department,” he said.
