Nabbed: CTD arrests extortionist in Kohat

The counter-terrorism department (CTD) Kohat has arrested an extortionist in Kohat. According to a handout issued by the department on Saturday, Imran Khan, a resident of Osmania Neher, was taken into custody after a raid was conducted at his house. “Police received an intelligence tip-off about his whereabouts,” read the statement. “Imran was arrested and has been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.” The document added Imran was wanted in a number of extortion cases. Earlier this week, CTD had arrested an extortionist in Darawal Banda, Kohat. Jamshed, a resident of Orakzai Agency, was arrested for threatening Ali Rehman, a trader in Kohat, of dire consequences if he failed to cough up the extortion money. Further investigation is under way.
