NAB arrests PPP leader Qasim Zia in fraud case

Investigation is currently underway into the alleged corruption valued at millions of rupees

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab on Saturday arrested Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) leader Qasim Zia on account of corruption, Express News reported.

Zia, one of the director's of Ali Usman Securities, was arrested following a raid by NAB officials on account of his alleged involvement in a scam worth millions of rupees on the Lahore Stock Exchange, according to a NAB spokesperson.


Following the arrest Zia was presented in an accountability court where the court remanded him into NAB's custody for 14 days, while investigation is underway.

Zia is the former president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation and a former MPA at the Punjab Assembly.
