Foul Play: FIR sought against drug dealers, cops

An additional district and sessions judge sought comments on Friday from the Factory Area SHO on a petition seeking a case against four alleged drug peddlers and two police officials who were allegedly providing them protection. Petitioner Asif Masih said Akbar Masih, Arjun Masih, Kala Masih, Afzal were operating a drug business in his neighbourhood. He said that he had asked them to stop but they threatened to kill him if he did not back off. He said later, Muhammad Hamid and Muhammad Hussain, cops at the Factory Area police station, threatened to implicate him in false cases if he tried to damage their business. Asif Masih said that he visited the police station but the SHO refused to register a case. He asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case against the suspects for selling drugs and the police officials for providing them protection.
