Dejected: Three commit suicide in Faisalabad
The SHO said the 40-year-old hung himself following a quarrel with his older brother over property
FAISALABAD:
A woman committed suicide by swallowing poison on Friday. Her daughters were hospitalised after she served them poisoned tea.
Police said Tahir, a resident of Thatha Musa, had reprimanded his wife Saira* and hit her during an argument. They said when he left, she poisoned the tea and gave it to her two daughters, eight-year-old Iqra and six-year-old Konain. They said she also took it herself.
They said they were rushed to Bhowana THQ Hospital and were later referred to Faisalabad Allied Hospital where Saira died. Doctors at the hospital said the girls were in intensive care and their condition was being monitored.
Separately, a man committed suicide over a property dispute near Jaranwala Saddar police station. The SHO said the 40-year-old hung himself following a quarrel with his older brother over property.
In another incident, a woman attempted to commit suicide after quarrelling with her in-laws near Aimanabad police station.
Police said Ghulam Rasool’s wife set herself alight after an argument with his parents. She was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition.
