Load management: CNG stations, SNGPL agree on schedule

The issue of gas outages to compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Punjab seems to have been resolved.

LAHORE:
The issue of gas outages to compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Punjab seems to have been resolved after a successful dialogue between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) here on Wednesday after a meeting was held at the former’s head office to discuss the prevailing crisis.

APCNGA Senior Vice Chairman Shuja Anwar said that both sides discussed the issue of gas availability in the country and decided that SNGPL would observe outages for two days a week and ensure smooth supply for the remaining five days.

The company will suspend gas supply to CNG stations on Mondays and Tuesdays in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura and Multan region while supply will be suspended on Fridays and Saturdays in Potohar region, which includes Islamabad, Rawalpindi and adjacent areas.

According to the representative, this load management plan will continue till February 15 and no further gas outage schedules will be issued for the CNG sector.
