PML-N to bring ‘real change’ in K-P: Kirmani
Says extensive work was carried out to evolve a consensus on de-seating issue
HARIPUR:
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani on Thursday said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will win the by-election at NA-19 Haripur, as it has an extensive plan to bring a ‘real change’ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
“In NA-19 constituency, mega projects including Hazara Motorway have already been launched,” he said, while addressing a public gathering. “The PML-N will bring about the change through a network of roads, universities and by supplying electricity and gas in the province,” he added.
Dr Kirmani said under the leadership of the PM Nawaz Sharif, the country has overcome the issues of terrorism and extremism. “Within next few years the energy crisis would also be resolved in order to create job opportunities for the people,” he added.
He said the PML-N took all political parties on board to resolve the issue of de-seating of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers. “The PML-N did an extensive homework to evolve a consensus on the issue in order to ensure good working environment in the house,” Kirmani said.
Criticising the Imran Khan-led party, he said the PTI’s sit-in was a setback for the country’s economy which even led to the postponement of Chinese president’s visit.
Former minister Omar Ayub, MNA Sardar Mushtaq, Qazi Asad, Hamid Mir, Hamid Shah, Major Habibullah and party workers were also present on the occasion. Earlier a reception was also hosted in honour of Dr Kirmani by Taimour Wajid, a prominent journalist of Haripur.
