PESHAWAR:

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak announced 300 new ASI posts for children of martyred policemen.

Addressing the Youm-e-Shuhada closing ceremony at Malik Saad police lines on Tuesday, Khattak said injured police officials will be provided with free medical treatment and awards will be given to those police officials who demonstrated bravery while fighting militancy.

The CM lauded the performance of the counter-terrorism department and said its crackdown against militants and anti-state elements has produced positive results. “The police force is at the forefront of the war against militancy and deserves recognition,” he added. “Rs32 billion is being spent on K-P police every year and the amount would be increased if the need arises,” Khattak said. He said the warden system has been introduced to increase the efficiency of the traffic police department. “Six training schools have also been established for police across the province,” added the CM.
