Blast injures 11 in Islamabad

Police soon cordoned off the area and investigation was underway

ISLAMABAD: At least 11 people were injured in a blast in a medical equipment store in Islamabad on Wednesday morning.

According to a police source, the chemical explosion occurred in a warehouse of a medical equipment store, Iqbal & Co, located in Al-Falah Manzil in Sector E-11/4.

Police soon cordoned off the area and investigation was underway.

According to police, eight of the injured were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) while three others to the Maroof International Hospital in F-10 Markaz.

Al-Falah Quranic Academy is also located on the upper floor of the same building, added the police.
