While four murder convicts were hanged, authorities stayed the execution of two
Four murder convicts were hanged early Wednesday morning in jails across Punjab, Express News reported.
Riaz and Amanullah were sentenced to death for the murder of a person in 2006 at a sessions court and were hanged in Mianwala Central Jail, alongside another murder convict.
The execution of another murder convict, Karim Nawaz, was stayed after orders were passed against his sentence.

Meanwhile in Gujranwala, Waqar alias Mithu, was sentenced to death for the murder of four women and five others in Mianwali and was hanged in Gujranwala Central Jail.
Authorities stayed the execution of a death row prisoner Muhammad Anwar who was to be hanged in Gujranwala Central Jail this morning.

Executions have now commenced after a month-long hiatus during the month of Ramazan.
