LAHORE:

Two people were arrested on Tuesday, on complaints filed by the Punjab Food Authority, for illegally unsealing a food outlet the PFA had sealed earlier.

The authority’s Ravi Town team had sealed Bhaijan Sweets and Bakers on July 27 for operating a food business without a licence. However, the proprietors had broken the padlocks and unsealed the outlet. On Tuesday, PFA officials and a police team resealed the outlet and arrested two people.

During raids on Tuesday, PFA officials sealed 786 Tikka Corner in Gulberg’s Ghalib Market for poorly maintained premises and lack of personal hygiene.

PFA’s Shalimar Town team sealed Raja Foods on Sahir Shah Road for unhygienic conditions and poor personal hygiene.

The Samanabad team sealed Arshad Samosa Wraps on Bastami Road and Karachi Master Biryani in Moon Market. They fined Waris Nihari in Moon Market, Dubai Chowk, for unhygienic conditions.

The Data Ganj Bukhsh team sealed Madni Restaurant on Lower Mall. The authority officials found flies and cockroaches in the utensils. The Ravi Town team fined the owners of Bismillah Hazara Hotel on GT Road and issued its management a last warning for not complying with rules.
