Contraband seized: Six held in drug busts

The Airport Security Force (ASF) and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) detained a passenger at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Tuesday for carrying 7.2 kilogrammes of heroin.

Syed Tariq Hussain, a resident of Peshawar, was reportedly carrying the drugs in his luggage. He was to board a Qatar Airways flight bound for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast).

In another incident, the ANF seized a drug supplier identified as Fahad, a resident of Charsadda, and recovered five kilogrammes of hashish from his possession. He was taken into custody from the Faizabad Bus Stop. According to ANF officials, Fahad arrived from Peshawar and was to hand over the drugs to a local dealer.


The ANF also held Mardan resident Muzamil Shah and his accomplice Razia Perveen, recovering two and a half kilogrammes of hashish from the couple. They were arrested near the Ghausia Bus Stand on Pir Wadhai Mor. The two came from Peshawar to hand over the drugs to local dealers, according to preliminary investigations.

In another operation conducted near Kohinoor Textile Mills on Peshawar Road, the ANF recovered 7.2 kilogrammes of opium and 3.3 kilogrammes of hashish from the possession of Amanullah Khan and Rehman Gul. Both men are residents of Khyber Agency in the tribal areas.
