Plagiarising fashion: FIA recovers fake Sana Safinaz outfits during Karachi raids
FIA books a cloth merchant under Copy Rights Act for producing and distributing illegal copies of the outfits

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday raided a shop at the popular Tariq Road market and recovered thousands of fake branded suits worth millions of rupees.
According to details, the Sana Safinaz’s fake suits were found at a shop. Cloth merchant, Mehboob, who is allegedly responsible for producing the fake and replica suits was arrested by the agency.
FIA has registered a case against the culprit under Copy Rights Act since he was involved in imitating Sana Safinaz’s suits and distributing them in the market.
It is considered a crime to infringe the copyrights of owner of any art related work and the law of Pakistan imposes high fine on the offenders over it.
