The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to launch a web portal which will help unearth new talent from every nook and corner of the nation.

Any individual who thinks he is good enough to bat, bowl or has already done good in some cricket scene can upload his video profile on the portal with complete details about his prowess of the game.

"These videos will then be viewed on a regular basis by the coaches at the NCA who will assess the talent on display,” said a PCB official.

“If the coaches find anyone suitable for future consideration he will then be called to the NCA for a further trial.

The board official mentioned that PCB chairman Shahryar Khan was responsible for floating the idea and was fed up of listening to criticism over wasted talent due to ignorance or the lack of resources for them to enter NCA coaches’ radar.

"The idea is to not only expand the base of raw talent around the country but to also ensure no deserving player is ignored in future," he said.

The official was observant that internet facilities were now available in nearly all the areas of Pakistan and PCB is expecting a strong response on the website.

The PCB and its selection committee has in recent times increased its stress on unearthing new talent and currently Pakistan's former captain and fast bowling great, Wasim Akram is supervising a short camp for young pacers in Karachi. However the bunch of pacers sent to the camp were selected by the national selection committee and not by Akram.
