Auto Parts: Potential to earn $5b annually
“We are fully capable of producing locally-made cars if required facilities are provided,” he added
LAHORE:
Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufactures (Paapam) has urged the government to extend due incentives to the automotive industry which could earn about $5 billion annually through auto parts export. “Export of Pakistani auto parts has great potential in the international market, especially in India and Europe,” said former Paapam chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi. He also stressed the need for staging shows for auto parts so that buyers get acquainted with the quality of Pakistani products. He said by holding exhibitions, manufacturers could also get a fair chance to come across potential buyers to bolster business in the sector. He also urged the government to support the local auto industry and facilitate it to compete with international competitors efficiently. “We are fully capable of producing locally-made cars if required facilities are provided,” he added.
