KARACHI:

I Am Karachi will launch its music festival on August 4. The six-day event will be a series of music dialogues, mentorship and will be followed by a music festival.

At a press conference held at Port Grand, the campaign managers revealed that the music festival is yet another of I Am Karachi's effort to stimulate dialogue and work towards a tolerant Karachi.

The event will host a music dialogue, which will include discussions with artists.

In the second phase, a music mentorship programme will be held, in which professionals will be conducting sessions for aspiring musicians. In the final part of the programme, a music festival will be held at Port Grand featuring music artists, both new and celebrated, will showcase their performances.

"It is a miracle that the idea that was generated on the eve of Quaid-e-Azam's birthday, will be represented as we move towards Independence Day in the near future," said Jameell Yusuf, president of I Am Karachi to Express Tribune.
