JUI-F executive committee endorses decision to leave govt

The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazlur Reman's (JUI-F) Central Executive Committee on Wednesday formally endorsed the party's decision to quit the coalition government.

JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who was presiding the meeting in Islamabad, accused the federal government of never fulfilling its promises with its coalition partners.

The party members from the Balochistan assembly opposed the proposal of forming a new government in the province with the help of Pakistan Muslim League-Qauid-i-Azam (PML-Q).

They said the proposal of establishing a new government in Balochistan will tarnish the image of party, and further argued that the present set-up must be allowed to complete its tenure.

The party reached a consensus on staying in the coalition in Balochistan.

Other members including Maulana Sherani, Maulana Abdul Waseh, Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Hafiz Hussain were also in attendance.

The Gilgit-Baltistan chapters of the party will now decide whether or not to remain a part of the coalition government.
