India proposes national security advisers' meeting: Aziz
Sartaj Aziz says Pakistan has not yet confirmed the proposed meeting

Prime Minister's Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz said on Sunday that India has proposed a meeting between national security advisers of the two countries, according to Radio Pakistan.
"India has proposed August 23 and August 24 month as dates for the meeting," Aziz said.
However, the premier's senior aide said Pakistan has not yet confirmed the proposed meeting and also that the agenda of the meeting is not yet fixed either.

On Friday, officials said that India’s Border Security Force (BSF) once again resorted to ‘unprovoked’ firing at the Line of Control (LoC). “Indian troops resorted to unprovoked heavy weapons and small arms firing on the Line of Control in Battal sector last evening,” state media reported, quoting the ISPR.
Earlier this week, a civilian was critically injured as a result of unprovoked firing by Indian forces on LoC in the Chirikot sector. He later succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital. Both sides have exchanged gunfire this month with four people killed on the Pakistani side by the Indian border security force. Five more have been left injured by the attacks from across the border.

During a recent meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in the Russian city of Ufa, the two leaders had agreed to a meeting of their security advisers in New Delhi to discuss issues related to terrorism.
According to the understanding reached in Ufa, Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz would travel to New Delhi for talks with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval, who would then make a reciprocal visit to Islamabad.
"India has proposed August 23 and August 24 month as dates for the meeting," Aziz said.
