On the first day declamation competition, dramatic competition and singing competitions were also held.
At the expo, students took interest in stalls of universities and gathered information about admissions. Faiza, a student of University of Gujrat who was a resident of Gujranwala, said that it was a great event as it was informative. She said it also provided students with an opportunity to interact with universities across Pakistan and provided a platform to students to showcase their skills.
The event was organised by Express Media Group. This was second time it was being organised in Lahore. More than 30 universities and colleges participated in the education expo. As many as 13 competitions were organised for the expo in which a large number of students participated.
Oxford University Press, Punjab Group of Colleges, University of Lahore, Information Technology University, Bahauddin Zakariya University Lahore, ICMA Pakistan, Happilac Paints and Meritorious Education Network are the platinum sponsors of the education expo. The expo was inaugurated by Punjab Governor Malik Rafique Rajwana on Wednesday, the first day of the event.
Ali Hassan, a student, said the Express Expo was extremely helpful as it allowed him access to all institutions of higher education under one roof. Additionally, he said, there was also information available about admissions to universities and institutions abroad. He said securing admission to a foreign university was difficult as there was not much information available about admission policies and visa requirements. The Express Expo, however, had stalls of consultants who provided that information allowing easy access to those working in Lahore, he added.
