Four prisoners on death row were hanged in various prisons in the province on Thursday. The execution of two convicts was deferred. Muhammad Tariq, who had been convicted in a murder case in 2000, was hanged in Sargodha District Jail. Convicts, Arshad and Jahandad, were hanged in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. Israr Ahmad was executed in Bahawalpur Central Jail. The execution of two convicts in Jhelum was deferred. They had been sentenced to death for killing one of their relatives in 1999.
