‘Mysterious disappearance’: Nine out of 13 friends released
Four of them remain in custody
KARACHI:
Nine out of 13 young friends, who ‘mysteriously went missing’ Tuesday night hours after leaving Karachi to attend a wedding party in Hyderabad, were released by the security agencies late Wednesday night. Four of them remain in custody. The residents of Noman Grand City in Gulistan-e-Jauhar set off in their own three cars at around 9pm on Tuesday. Their cellphones went off a couple of hours later, sparking serious concern among their families. Earlier on Wednesday, a score of their family members, relatives and people in the neighbourhood staged a sit-in outside their apartment and blocked the road for traffic. According to a statement issued by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, four of them are MQM workers and the rest are its supporters.
